Like a child, taken to the countryside I play alone, I play alone I play alone... Evening choir, singing to the setting sun, I play along, I play along, I play along... Moments form like branches on a growing tree. Quit looking down, quit looking down, quit looking down... Flowing slowly, Fleeting on the state of things. Forever on, forever on, forever on... I dissolve like aspirin in water. Time is tethered, why should I bother?

Lies, lies, lies lies. Every little word, Is impure. Oh, our tongues are curled, Into snakes behind our lips. Open from the start. Cross my heart. There are no riddles in the dark, But the echoes of yourself. Man, you're too smart, too smart, for love. It is a poison. And you're too fast, too hard, too much, a shell to be broken.

(Lullaby humming) Flyktigt som moln är sinnet. Virvlar iväg med vinden. Växer upp, blommar ut, som ett minne. Sediment någonstans i ens inre. Minspelen skrivs i huden. Fastnar som regn mot bergen. Natt och dag rullar in som i vågor. Vaggas in utav jordens sagor.

about

Sunnan is a magical atlas of musical excursions to places real and imagined. It's like a patchwork quilt made of different folk cultural influences and electronic indiepop. During the process of making this, I was listening a lot to stuff like Huun-Huur-Tu and Lord Huron, which I think let a bit more bright folkieness into my musical mood. I also have a lot more ascoutic instrumentation on this record, like the ancient swedish "moraharpa", bass clarinet, flutes and indonesian gamelans.

Each track is also named after a place I was loosely inspired by when making it. "Kanada" for instance, is based on a traditional song from a native american tribe called "dogrib". But other tracks are less directly correlated to the place, like "Penang" which is about a friend of mine who lives there.

Hope you enjoy your listen!
